Digital image from original photographic print showing southeast perspective view. Details include: corner chimney [right of tree in foreground], gable-end chimney [right of center in background]; surviving 19th random-rubble masonry; surviving south gable and east eaves walls masonry; casement window frame in second story, south bay{1} {1} This casement frame appears to be similar to that in the 2d story northern bay, in which the surviving header displays a shallow exterior rabbet [earlier, "rebate"], suggesting an iron frame which probably encased one or two lights, operating and/or fixed, glazed with leaded panes [earlier, "quarries"]. Based on this evidence, iron framed casement windows are planned for the 9 original fenestration openings of the house. Small fragments of thin green glass, found on the site and consistent with an early 18th century type, will be examined to evaluate whether the quarries were more likely diamond-shaped or rectangular. The windows visible in the eaves wall in this photo are in the second story level of the wall, affirming that the loss of walling from the roof collapse in the mid-1950s was confined to the few courses of stonework between the 2d floor window lintels and the two-plank rafter plate.
